I need your help on a question. I am in Hungary now and one of my Friend got a very bad tooth since years which should have been pulled by the dentist opinion long ago.

Then he got lately heavy headache and fiver, this went on for few days. We thought he has gotten some kind of cold and was taking vit C etc. but his condition wasn't changing at all. Then we had the idea it might be the tooth so he went to the dentist and he immediately pulled the tooth. Then he had some fever and headache for 1-2 days more and then it was gone.

But from there on he had huge pain with the pulled tooth. And now is 9 days after the tooth was pulled and it still unbearably hurting and now he got pain in his throat since 2 days which is getting worse.

We went back to the dentist few days ago and he said that everything was fine but we do not think as he still have pain and also now his throat is infected.

Can it be that he has sore throat after pulling a tooth?

Please help me.

Kedves Kérdező!

If the place of the pulled tooth is still painful, your friend must take antiinflammatory drugs, for example diclofenac. Diclofenac will help if your friend’s have a viral thorat infection as well. If it won’t be better in a few days, your friend must go to a dentist, and the dentist should decide if your friend needs antibitics or doesn’t. If the sore throat will be experienced continously he or she must go to the GP.
